Not a particularly creative title, but entirely true. I am pretty much a walking advertisement for TeaGschwendner, a lovely German specialty tea company that made its way to Chicago and into my life. This is a display of all the TG teas I currently own, plus some assorted other TeaG stuff (their current [5th] edition Book of Tea, the 3rd edition [I had a second and a fourth at one point, but lost them], the adorable Teelamass, and a loose leaf tea strainer). I've annotated the teas with their name and TG #s and a brief description for anyone interested. There is actually a bit of haphazard logic to how these teas are arrayed. On the viewer's left are teas from India (Assams and Darjeelings, plus one from Viet Nam because it's similar to an Assam and I wasn't sure where to put it) Center are tea blends, with the two flavored tea blends (Earl Grey and Earl Grey's Lady Violet) on either end of them. On the viewer's right are teas from China. I'm such a tea dork.

So help me god. I'm about to go to bed, at 9:30 on a Friday night no less, out of sheer desperation. Before doing so, I took an arm's length self-portrait of myself that I think illustrates all-too-accurately how I feel right now. Unaltered in any way...from me to my camera to iPhoto to Flickr, no adjustments. There may be something to be said for unedited honesty. Replaced at 10:26 by another, also unaltered, photo from the same roll because I couldn't get to sleep despite my best efforts and desires and I was feeling stupidly moody and suddenly decided I preferred this new one, and because that's just the kind of girl I am. And now I'm really and truly going to sleep before I drive myself mad.

One more FGR 3/2/08 Boxed [In] photo. Taken in one of the dryer machines in my apartment basement. (I was surprised to find that I was a bit disappointed when no one walked in in the middle of this. I think it would have been hilarious. Oh well.) I was attempting to spin myself in the dryer, but sadly I lacked sufficient upper body strength to get any real spin velocity going. Alas. Reasons to be happy, 3/12/08 at 23:35: -An excellent and delicious tea tasting at TeaGschwendner, at which I had 7 superb Assam teas -Spring weather, allowing me to wear my nice light coats (as seen in this picture) rather than the bulky ugly one I wore all winter. -Cute guy who flirted with me on the corner of Clark and Lake. -Because it's more fun to be happy than sad.

An arm's length SP, because I was too lazy to do a real one but still wanted to do one. The background has been blackened by playing with color balance in iPhoto in order to eliminate random objects (tv, cat, askew window blinds, etc) cluttering up the background. Nevertheless I think it turned out ok.
