The city of Antwerp lies at the of the river Scheldt. On the left bank is a marina and a recreation area including a tiny beach. On the right bank, at the entrance of the city, lie the old harbour docks. Further north (dead ahead in this picture) lies the modern Port of Antwerp, with docks that stretch all the way to the Dutch border. It's the second largest port in Europe and the sixth largest worldwide. It's also the second largest petrochemicals centre in the world, after Houston in Texas. The port accounts for approximately one fifth of Belgium's GDP. I think we have every bloody right to be proud of it :-)
