of a WAG-7 electric locomotive of Indian Railways. South of Kota the line is mostly straight with an occasional curve and although the rise is very gentle the line does tend to climb. Here is the scene from the footplate on a southbound goods train. On the clipboard at left are the running instructions for this section with details of speed restrictions, running times and such. The landscape is dry plains, and the windscreen is coated with the remains of insects. The horizon is not level as the locomotive was rollling from side to side a little at 80 kmh, the cab was crowded and I wanted to capture the scene as it was.
