The Imperial War Museum is a museum in London featuring military vehicles, weapons, war memorabilia, a library, a photographic archive, and an art collection of 20th century and later conflicts, especially those involving Britain, and the British Empire. Here is one of them anyway. Part of an Animals at War exhibition at the IWM. Pukkagen suggested that this was an early attempt at pychological warfare. The enemy troops being overcome by the big brown eyed look from these baffled little warriors. They were in fact used for carrying messages in a way similar to carrier pigeons.

A heaveny name for what was merely a huge metal bomb with a person sittin in its glass nose doing the bomb aiming for the Zeppelin which had lowered him from several hundred feet above a convenient cloud. If the airship was attacked the crew would cut this encumbrance away!

Which turned out to be nothing of the sort! I built a kit of the Heinkel He 162 Volksjager (peoples fighter) and lacking the instructions sheet I assembled the wings the wrong way round. I thought it looked much better!
