Porch Cats

Taken at a small coastal town. I saw all these cats on the porch of a very run down house. The house was occupied. At a causal glance, the cats looked healthy. But upon closer inspection, they were not. Some had discharge coming from their eyes and they seemed very neglected. It broke my heart. [They had a cute black dog chained up in the back yard too]. See update below.

While walking the docks at the coast, I met Ed. He is a crabbing boat dog. His breed is unknown...as he was adopted from a dog shelter. He goes out every night along the Washington Coast hauling in crab pots. He sure was a gentle soul. Very friendly and laid back. I loved his eyes. Scroll to see him full size and the large crab boat he calls home.

WARNING: Second photo is graphic! Pics taken at a run down and occupied house in a coastal town. I stop by and check on the cats every time we go to our beach cottage. The local shelter and sheriff is aware of the pet neglect here. They say there's little they can do..imagine that! Hug your pets...some dogs and cats live a hideous life.

I went to this marina that have resident Mallards~ expecting for sure to find ducklings. Nope...I was told the park employees destroy the eggs as part of the population control. View LARGE.
