that's taken close to Mesolongi also. When I look now at this pic I feel very calm, relaxed, tranquile and all the other relative adjectives. That was not the case when I was taking the photo! I took more than 30 pictures around there and I was at the state of vigilance all the time, trying to capture everything, trying to set the camera correctly. I dont think that I enjoyed the scenery then, but I did enjoyed taking those pictures!

Kleisoura Pass near Agrinion City. Kleisoura Pass is a spectacular canyon crossed by the main road connecting Agrinion with Patras. It is surrounded with big steep cliffs. A glorious sunset in Mesolongi lagoon in Central Greece. The vast complex of lagoons in Mesolongi, is one of the most important wetlands in Europe, where large numbers of migrating sea birds live. This area is also well known for the production of a special kind of caviar.

On the road from Mesolonghi to Agrinio you come by the small church of Agia Eleousa (you can distinguish it below to the right in the rock) and the huge cross. The dot in the air is no dust, but a bird, probably a hawk or some other kind of bird of prey.

From what I understand this pile of old tyres was part of an illegal transport. It was confiscated and lay for more than a year in the port of Mesolonghi. Apparently it was hindering there so they dumped it 500 meters further in the nature ...


Pelades

What you see are the traditional fishermen's houses, the so-called pelades in Tourlida (Mesolonghi). They are built on wooden stakes in the water. The dam like structure in front is the road from Mesolonghi to Tourlida.

The wooden structures you see on the left belong to the Alikes restaurant in Tourlida (Mesolonghi). They remind of the traditional fishermen's houses of Mesolonghi, the so-called Pelades.
