I'm seeing this bridge in very good lighting at the present on my walk home through Hyde Park / Kensington Gardens. The sky looked ominous, (although it cleared later), but I thought it justified another shot. You can buy prints of this image direct from Photobox. Prints are laser produced, and typically are delivered within 48 hours in the UK. You deal direct with Photobox. The link is www.photobox.co.uk/album/thumbnails.html?c_album=6940240 You might like to compare with a similar photo taken at about the same time of day on Re a few questions, it has been edited, but not a lot. There were some blemishes that I removed, and using 'ArcSoft PhotoPro' (which came free with the Canon 350D), I upped the colour hue and saturation, though I'm afraid I can't tell you by how much. It's in the Canon jpg format, not HDR, I don't know anything about using HDR (yet!). I did think that I could have shot a better photo when I posted the last attempt; I prefer the composition on this one. Getting the ominous (but harmless) sky was a bonus! The thing with both of these photos is that it's getting into September, the Sun is getting lower, and this changes the quality of the light. I'm given to crepuscular habits with photography as there are shots to be had in the early morning and evening that don't exist in the middle of the day. I also tend to take more photos towards the Winter, again because the Sun is lower in the sky. Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

2007-12-12-058_1 London Kensington Gardens Broad Water lake Early Morning Fog

This morning was a reasonable ground frost, something that happens only occasionally in London. There was also a mist which particularly accumulated over the 'Broad Water / Serpentine Lake in the Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. This lake is artificial, it was formed by damming the Westbourne rivulet that flowed through this valley and then out to the River Thames via Knightsbridge. Almost the whole of this river has been covered over, so this is the only remaining visible part of it. The light was still pretty gloomy, so I've had to edit this photo a fair amount to brighten it and remove the noise that resulted from using a high ISO. Hope you like it!

The spiral Pavilion in Hyde Park nears the end of it's stay on earth. Pavilion Politics . Friday 2 November . 7 – 9 pm 'An evening discussion on the multiple and contradictory roles pavilions play at the intersection of art and architecture. This event will investigate the ways in which such temporary spaces orchestrate current politics of value and event culture, experimentation, philanthropy and institutional profiling.' In other words why build a pavilion with a cafe next to an art gallery and then dismantle it after four months? ... and then do the same thing the following year?

I think that this is the body of water called The Long Water. Someone who knows the area better can correct me. We stayed near Hyde Park on Sussex Gardens, and walked here the first day to keep ourselves awake after our time zone travel.

You can't blame me for a attibuting human characteristics to this family - doesn't it just look like the mother is listening intently to the little one telling her stories from its day at school?
