The San Antonio River Walk (also known as Paseo del Río) is a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story beneath downtown San Antonio, Texas. Lined by bars, shops and restaurants, the River Walk is an important part of the city's urban fabric and a tourist attraction in its own right. Today, the River Walk is an enormously successful special-case pedestrian street, one level down from the automobile street. The River Walk winds and loops under bridges as two parallel sidewalks lined with restaurants and shops, connecting the major tourist draws from the Alamo to Rivercenter mall, to the Arneson River Theatre close to La Villita, to Hemisfair Park, to the Tower Life Building, to the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Pearl Brewery. During the annual springtime Fiesta San Antonio, the River Parade features flowery floats that literally float. (Source: Wikipedia)

So I got to spend a week in San Antonio and got a chance to check out the river walk. Very scenic and extremely crowded. The wind would pick up in the evening. Wish I had more time, but it always seems like there is never enough time and we are always running down a dream. Taken with a Nikon D90 f22 to give the lights a star burst 15 sec exposure, I would love to tell you it was hand held but I'm not that good, Flash Point tripod. ISO-640

The Tower Life Building in San Antonio is dramatic and impressive, with the USA flag streaming against the evening sky and lights beaming. Iconic tall buildings abound. www.emporis.com/application/?nav=building&lng=3&i... Built in 1927 — 30 floors. Tallest in San Antonio until 1988.

This was a view from the 6th floor of the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk in San Antonio. My room directly overlooked the Hard Rock Cafe. This was the first thing I saw looking out the window in the morning. Paying a group rate I didn't exactly get the best view.

Across the street from the alamo, this room is full of mirrors and illuminated with red lights from the floor. If you're idea of fun is to run into mirrors in a dimly lit room then give this place a shot.

Another shot of the Riverwalk at night. The streaming white light on the river is from the light of one of the boats. Better when viewed on black
