Hungerford Bridge

The Hungerford Bridge crosses the River Thames in London, and lies between Waterloo Bridge and Westminster Bridge. It is a steel truss railway bridge -- sometimes known as the Charing Cross Bridge -- flanked by two cable-stayed pedestrian bridges that share the railway bridge's foundation piers, and which are properly named the Golden Jubilee Bridges.

The Eye

The Eye

When Eiffel's Tower was first built, Parisians thought of it as a monstruousity. I thought the same of the London Eye when I first caught sight of it. Several years and visits later, I have truly grown fond of it, to the point where I can no longer imagine London's skyline without it. It is a comforting sight, a silent guardian watching over tourists and Londoners alike with a benevolent eye. If you can see The Eye, you can find your way back to Central London. Without realizing it, I stopped using the word tacky to describe this landmark ...instead, whimsical somehow seems like a kinder, more appropriate adjective to describe it. I'd even venture to say it's quite photogenic.

I seem to have caught another pause in the London Eye's rotation - unlike most wheels it doesn't stop very often. Taken from a similar position to , on the Golden Jubilee Footbridge. Not the most stable of places to shoot from, as a fellow photographer remarked. The bridge shook quite violently everytime a train went past on the Hungerford rail bridge and there seemed to be some small vibrations from people walking past too.
