Downtown Wasteland

I find it strange that there is so much unused space in Houston. This is the north east side of downtown (I live on the West side). I think there is a lot of development going on, because right behind me when I took this photo was an upscale development of brand new townhouses, and there is construction all around. I think this lot may be owned by U of H and it seems they are expanding their downtown campus. Houston seems to be a city that is still developing. When all of this empty land is turned into something nice, it could be a really cool area, but right now, this part of town looks pretty bad. Not a bad view of the skyline despite that though, I guess.

The galleria district is Houston's 2nd skyline. The building I took the photo from is downtown, so you can see how far away it is. I live somewhere in the green area in the middle.
