Gateway to the West

It is said that every path into Pittsburgh is an entry. The most prominent of these is coming through the Fort Pitt Tunnel but the Parkways have their views as well where you come around a bend and suddenly Pittsburgh is there. Well, the Hot Metal Bridge is now one of those signature entryways. Second, I think, only to the Ft. Pitt tunnel.

This was the first time I had ever watched a barge go by beneath me. as it passed under the bridge, the bow was already pointing towards he next bridge, tail-skidding at a nearly 45 degree angle.
