Old Harris County Courthouse (Houston, Texas)
Made by courthouselover
This historic former courthouse was built in 1910 with the designs of the architectural firm of Lang, Witchell & Barglebaugh. It sits in the center of Houston's old town square and is one of the oldest constructions in the downtown area. It has since been replaced by two high rise courthouses and a large number of annexes. It appears to sit vacant in a semi-restored, semi-work-in-progress state. For the last few years of its use it was used only as the Harris County Civil Courthouse. Harris County has a population greater that that of the state of Oklahoma, and Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States.

The old Harris County Civil Courts Building. I'm not sure what the current status of this building is. There were several dumpsters on the side of the building and a few guys were moving old office furniture to a moving van the day I took this.
