Late Fall on Hall's Pond
Made by Plant Design Online
Right here in Brooklne a few steps from Boston University we have the wonderful reserve of Hall's Pond. The remnant of a glacier that covered this region, the pond has no natural outlet. It's a tiny refuge that reflects the seasons beautifully. Here willows shimmer in the surface light of the pond, which has just started icing over.

Also visible is the grate where overflow goes to keep keep the pond from flooding. It did its job overtime in May and June of this year when massive rains indundated the surrounding areas. This pond ultimately captures all the runoff water in the watershed which includes all of Coolidge Corner.

Aug 2006 - This is a view across the pond from one of the two boardwalk platforms that jut out from the shore to give you a great panoramic view of the place. A cormorant is just off camera to the right, and flew off a few minutes later.

This is a photo from the first roll of film I've developed by myself. Our class went to a park down the street from AIB and this was the gate leading into it from inside the park. Taken with a Nikon F2.

For my first class at AIB we went to this park. Even though it was raining, I managed to get this candid photo of a family looking at the pond. Taken with a Nikon F2.

not the best picture, but hey, you don't see two of these birds everyday! the second one came out of nowhere, i wonder if they were fighting over territory.

another rare in flight picture for me. not too impressive, but it does sort of give you an idea of how big the wingspan is.

Jungle like, is it not? Willows weep eveywhere around the pond, creating a great mix of shade and light.

This is the same goose, with my iPhone, from last week or something. She's fixing up her nest.
