Hippodrome, Istanbul, Turkey (from 2006) This is part of the base of the Obelisk of Theodosius, The Obelisk dates from 1490BCE and was first erected at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor during the reign of Tuthmosis III. It was transported from Egypt to its current position 390CE by order of Byzantine Emperor Theodosius.
