Please take a view! Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is located in the northwest of the country. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is egg-shaped and about 430 hectares in size. The area of the whole city amounts to more than 13,840 hectares, including 193.7 hectares off the coast, at Zeebrugge (Seabruges in literal translation). The city's total population is more than 117,000, of which around 20,000 live in the historic centre. Bruges has, because of its port, a significant economic importance and is also home to the College of Europe. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A dalt del Belfort, Brugge
Made by El senyor dels Bertins

View from the belfry in Brugge. Brugge, while more touristy than Ghent, was also much greener. There was a lot to like about each city. The Church of Our Lady's tower reaches a height of 122m -- the tallest in Brugge -- one of the tallest brick structures in the world. It was built in the 13th-15th centuries. The Historic Center of Brugge is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Bruge
Made by Andrew Pescod
We have had a mini brake to Bruge in Belgium this week unfortunately via ferry during the worst storms of the winter ( great idea but you can't choose the weather). We got to spend one day in the center of Bruge which has some fantastic architecture. This shots looks across to the cathedral ( St-Salvator)

Belfort

The mediaeval belfry tower (13th-15th century) is 88 metres in height and houses the former city treasury, in which Bruges' valuables (money and royal charters) were once kept. The tower tilts 1.2 metres from the vertical at it's summit.
