Great Hall of the People
The Great Hall of the People (Simplified Chinese: º§; Traditional Chinese: º§; pinyin: Rénmín Dàhùitáng) is located at the western edge of Tiananmen Square, Beijing, People's Republic of China, and is used for legislative and ceremonial activities by the People's Republic of China and the Communist Party of China. The People's Congress Hall flanks the western side of Tian'anmen Square. Constructed in 1959, it's over 40 metres high, which a floor space of 171800 square metres, when it is in session. The grest hall has numerous conference rooms, banquet halls, and reception areas, many of vast size: the major confernce hall accommodates 10000 people and the huge banquet hall can seat 5000.

The Great Hall of The People, Beijing, China on National Day 2004 when thousands of people gathered in Tiananmen Square for something that never happened. This building is, without a doubt in my mind, one of the ugliest in the world. Outside is pretty bad, but then you can go inside to see how it's decorated.
