I don't what's taken so long, but I finaly took Nikographer's advice, and checked out Gravely Point Park. Great place for plane spotting, and surprising to me I even saw a heron.

It's impressive watching these aircraft turn final for Runway 19 on the River Visual. They are making this turn to line up just about one mile from the end of the runway over the Potomac.
