Granada - Greek: libu%rgy (Steph. Byz.) - Elibyrge; Latin: Illiberis (Ptol. ii. 4. § 11) or Illiberi Liberini (Pliny iii. 1. s. 3); Arabic: i+r+n+a+tjtm - is a city and the capital of the province of Granada, in the autonomous region of Andalusia, Spain. It is situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of two rivers, Darro and Genil, at an elevation of 738 metres above sea level. At the 2005 census, the population of the city of Granada proper was 236,982, and the population of the entire urban area was estimated to be 472,638, ranking as the 13th-largest urban area of the Spanish Kingdom. Land of Volcanos and Lakes

Not only is Nicaragua full of beautiful children and people, it is also full of natural wonders. It is known as the land of lakes and volcanoes. This Particular one (Concepcion) is active and sits in the middle of Lake Nicaragua (or Lago de Cocibolca). I hope to someday climb this active wonder. It takes at least 4 days to get there, climb and get back from Granada even though we can see it just fine from there. This photo was taken on a ride from our site in Costa Rica to Granada, Nicaragua.
Rich people's houses on the islets

There are all these little islets near Granada (Las Isletas de Granada). Many of them are too small for any building, but on some of the larger ones, rich people have built cottages--and in this case, on two of the larger ones. Must be nice & cool up there over the water... comparatively anyway...
