The exisitng strip shopping along Alabama Avenue in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Washington, DC, is unattractive and, according to some residents, unsafe. Many living in the neighborhood end up going into nearby Maryland for the shopping needs. The proposed Skyland mixed use project -- to be located on this site -- could change that.
Glaucoma (one year after laser surgery)

As you can see by the reflection in her pupils, Lilly has glaucoma. The left eye is almost completely blind (see the pinprick reflection). The right eye is being controlled with expensive glaucoma meds.
