This 19th century mosque stands on the shores of the Bosphorus beneath the vast span of hte Bosphorus bridge. It is a great place to go and hang out on a sunny afternoon, as the steets around it are filled with foodstalls selling Kumpir (Turkish baked potatoes), Gozleme (pastry pancakes) and other savoury delights. Ortaköy means middle village - though it's very much in the heart of Istanbul now!
