Les Chefs de France / Bistro de Paris

France (French: IPA: ), officially the French Republic (French: République française, IPA: ), is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and that also comprises various overseas islands and territories located in other continents.^ Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. French people often refer to Metropolitan France as L'Hexagone (The "Hexagon") because of the geometric shape of its territory.

The France pavilion is themed to look like a Paris neighborhood with a pool and fountains and with a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Most of the shops on the streets are actual shops selling French goods such as Guerlain perfumes. The pavilion features Impressions de France, a panoramic movie which visits France's cities and historical structures. It also includes two French restaurants, the Bistro de Paris and Les Chefs de France, and a bakery, the Boulangerie Patisserie. Belle, Beast, and Gaston from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which was partly inspired by the version by French filmmaker Jean Cocteau, make appearances at the France Pavilion. Other characters with French backgrounds, such as those from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Aristocats also appear frequently. In this area there are advertisements of Disneyland Paris and souvenirs featuring it.

One of the superb desserts at Chefs de France, France, EPCOT, Walt Disney World. Rated 6/5. THREE hugh (tennis ball sized) profiterolles filled with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream and smothered in chocolate sauce with toasted, slivered almonds. - and don't forget that strawberry on top! One person is supposed to pack this in after eating a full meal?!? This was our first time eating at the Chefs de France and won't be our last! (We have ADRs for dinner on 9/29 - party of ELEVEN please!) BTW, Keveen is an excellent waiter.


Plume et Palette

Plume et Palette occupies part of the France pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot. I like the architectural style represented here. I must confess that I did more than usual to this photo. The day we were at Epcot was gray and overcast, so the sky in the photo was completely blown out. In GIMP, I used a script I had found called Blue Sky & Clouds to add some color to the blown-out sky. It works rather well, and in this case made the photo a bit more attractive, in my opinion.

Happy birthday boy. Disneyland or Disney World is a great place to go on your birthday. Disney gives you free admission, but if you already have a pass, they will give a gift card for the equivalent value ($75 in my case) or a bunch of fast passes. Everyone was constantly wishing me happy birthday and one of the characters (honestly don't remember which one) called me and sang happy birthday. It's hard not to feel special on that day.

This was one of about a dozen shots I took during the show, and this was the only one that really came out clear. This was taken with my Kodak EasyShare about a month before I got my Canon and Gorillapod, so next time I go to Disney World, I will have many more shots like this! IllumiNations, although it can't compare to Wishes, is truly a spectacular show and really reflects the spirit of Epcot.

Les Chefs De France of the France Pavilion at EPCOT Center in 1983. Les Chefs De France was originally set up by the Paul Bocuse, Roger Verge and Gaston Lenotre. One of the three had to visit monthly to make sure the restuarant was meeting their expecations. Veuillez . Merci.

The Palais De Cinema, which is in the France Pavilion, which is in World Showcase, which is in Epcot, which is in Walt Disney World. Whew. A very pretty interpretation of Paris. World Showcase at Epcot is probably the number 1 reason to visit Walt Disney World: I love it.
