when I was taking this picture, I heard this voice behind my back. I quickly shot it and turned around and there was this huge black woman, with another huge black woman saying: oi! stop takin' dem picturz man! - with that brixtonian-jamaican-whatever accent. I just love Electric Avenue. It's like a teleport to another country. you can buy delicious food there as well. say we gonna rock down through electric avenue ;)

Electric Avenue is the main artery, snaking through the heart of Brixton. It is so-named because it was the first street to have electric lighting. I first knew of it through the Eddy Grant song :-)
