when we visited the Chellah ruins and gardens, a group of youg Muslim girls were visiting too. Difficult to know where they came from - Malaysia maybe, they were happy, laughing, taking pictures of each others with the latest camera phone... They asked me to take a picture of all of them with at least three of their cameras.. but but... what will they see in the pictures ? veils, dark clothes, and if lucky, bright open eyes .. I don't know their story, where they come from, why they were there but it was really strange.. Their must be a lesson somewhere. Lorsque nous avons visité le Chellah à Rabat, il y avait également un groupe de jeunes filles riantes, qui se prenaient régulièrement en photo avec le dernier cri en matière de téléphones appareil photos. Je ne suis pas sûr de leur origine - Malaisie, Indonésie ? Elles mont même demandé de les prendre en phots ensemble avec trois de leurs appareils.. Mais que verront elles sur les photos, des voiles, de long vêtements sombres et avec un peu de chance, leur yeux facétieux. Je ne connais pas leur provenance, leur histoire, leur croyance, mais il y a un message quelque part

One of my favourites places in Morocco Chellah, or Chella, (Arabic: شالة) is a necropolis and complex of ancient[1] and medieval[2] ruins that lie on the outskirts of Rabat, Morocco’s Ville Nouvelle, or modern section. This site is the most ancient human settlement on the mouth of the Bou Regreg River. Many of the structures in Chellah were damaged by an 18th century earthquake.
