A Blue Night Flight

Planes approaching National Airport. The buildings on the right side of the photo are the Rosslyn area of Arlington, Virginia. During the 6 second exposure, the plane on the right was coming essentially at my, creating a single point of light (rather than a streak). The resulting RAW photo was very noisy so I had to change the exposure, shadows, and contrast which resulted in a very dark and blue night shot. More on my photoblog: ohadonline.com

this guy was trying to show off and splash several of us standing next to the rail at Hanes Point along the Potomac River. But i was able to capture this. i know if i was trying to get a shot like this i would have never gotten the timing right

Taken from Hains Point at the far end of East Potomac Park. The forecast was for rain, but the sun is breaking out. The view is of Northern Virginia, which is more urban than it seems here. The water is the Potomac River.
