guitar hero for atari 2600

guitar hero for atari 2600
Made by bkusler
i was doodling in photoshop while talking on the phone to curtisha... i had this weird dream last night that kel and i had been hired to backport guitar hero to atari 2600... guess that's what i decided to doodle about while curtis and i gabbed about how being a bear is old and busted and how tranny is the new hotness. anyway, it probably needs a nice blocky representation of steve perry in the background but i just couldn't get his cameltoe right with only 192x160 to work with... besides, the call is over now and i need to fucking get back to work :P

Looking for a 3rd roommate!

Looking for a 3rd roommate!

We just found an amazing place in SF on Market/Sanchez. It's a 3 bedroom, completely redone, hardwood floors, new beautiful kitchen, new (split) bathroom (tub w/ jacuzzi jets) , all the works. Close to groceries, bars, coffee shops, action, gym, muni ... Will come to around $1350 a month, everything included (garbage, power, internet, etc). It's a damn sweet place. Oh yeah..REMOTE CONTROLLED FIREPLACE. If you're interested, let me know! Comment on one of these photos or send me a message.

Broken water main, 1272 Market (1954)

I love the amazing detail of this picture. The two hotel signs on the left are still there, but I think the rightmost one has moved a little. The Buick dealer is now Walgreens. The Open Bible Church building is still there but closed not long ago; the same is true of S&C Ford in the distance. Bicyclists don't wear hats like that much any more. And the Safeway sign above the buildings on the left looks like something that was beamed in from another planet. (Huge version)

Unintended Garden

Unintended Garden
Made by Hal Bergman Photography
A day of heavy rain followed by a few days of warm sun resulted in flowers popping up anywhere they could get a foothold. MUNI's N-Line light rail rolls over one such garden near the East portal of the Sunset Tunnel near Duboce Park. The lack of any foot traffic coupled with the streetcar-only right-of-way allows the garden to grow unimpeded between the tracks. This may also be the result of late-night gurella gardening after the trains stop running.

Church Street Mini Station

A while back I shot the , but wanted to try it with tilt/shift. Just after I took this photo a kind Muni worker came up to tell me that there is no photography allowed in this public place without a permit. I told her that was ridiculous and asked her how they enforced that with so many camera phones around. She didn't have an answer and told me she only knew the rules. Details are best viewed

The Castro Exposed!

The Castro Exposed!
Made by monkeytime | brachiator
The Castro, S.F., on New Year's Day. Double-exposed accidenta – I mean, uh, intentionally, for art's sake!!! Fuji Velvia to monochrome in Lightroom. Shot with the Agfa Isolette, Agnar f/4.5 lens, probably at f/8 or f/11, ISO 50, which would make this about a 1/100 sec. exposure. On the other hand, given how blurry it is, it could have been 1/10 sec. at f/32!

Moved out finally

Former Ike's Place (sandwich shop). Ike got a permit for a cafe. Then it became a sandwich shop. People loved the sandwiches and would wait for hours in a long line for them. Television shows came and raved about the food. The lines got longer. The neighbors hated the smell and the crowds. After a couple of years in the courts, Ike's has been evicted.

Bike Fun! I saw this the night of Critical Mass, after a month of melodramatic and inaccurate bad press about the previous month's ride, courteous of a duo of gossip columnists. I like to think of this as the type of tandem that duo would ride if they could just get their heads out of their whatsits.

Brooke Fraser

Brooke Fraser at Cafe Du Nord, San Francisco, California. Given the low light situation, my only option was shooting with my 50mm 1.8 wide open. Fortunately, I was probably at optimal distance for that lens. I took about 300 shots; only a handful were usable.
