Djibouti
Djibouti (Arabic: g+y+b+w+t+y+ Jibuti, Somali: Jabuuti), officially the Republic of Djibouti, is a small country in eastern Africa, located in the Horn of Africa. Djibouti is bordered by Eritrea in the north, Ethiopia in the west and south, and Somalia in the southeast. The remainder of the border is formed by the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. On the other side of the Red Sea, on the Arabian Peninsula, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the coast of Djibouti, is Yemen.Djibouti's climate is very hot and arid, especially in the summer. The summer heat is moderated, however, by a sustained breeze in the coastal city of Djibouti. From October to April the temperature is cooler, with occasional rain. Cyclones from the Indian Ocean create heavy rains and flash flooding.

Kwangtung Voyage #34 Thursday 16th June 1994: Djibouti In 1994, I spent three months working on a container ship sailing between Europe and ports in the Indian Ocean. I recently discovered my slide photos from the trip, and have scanned some of them into my computer. We paused in Djibouti for less than six hours, hardly long enough to leave the ship. This is a pretty dull photo, but it's the only one I'm ever likely to take in this country, so it's going into the album!
