The site of the current reservoir used to be a village / mill. When the water level is low, you can see walls and marks where buildings used to be. The Isle of Skye pub on Greenfield road closed not long after the village was flooded. Digley reservoir was built in the 1950s but the valley has had a reservoir in it for much longer. Bilberry reservoir, further up the valley (you can just see the dam wall for it in this photo) caused a massive flood in Holmfirth when the embankment collapsed in 1852 causing 81 deaths. It was almost dark when I left work again today but I decided to take a minor detour to cheer myself up. When viewed large, you can see the headlights of cars on Greenfield Road. The photo was somewhat inspired by a photo that one of my contacts took. Comments welcome (positive and constructive negative)!

Lunch time edit :) Taken on the same walk as the three previous photos (including the deer spotting) but for some reason, the taken on date below is wrong... Perhaps it's the old version of Paint shop pro we have at work? Couldn't decide if I should crop this.. I some ways I like the fence in the foreground but then maybe it's a distraction?
