Desmet on the Plantage Middenlaan in the east of Amsterdam (but still close to the centre). The lovely little two screen theatre closed in 1997, and is now a soundstudio as well as a music stage with café, with TV & Radio shows and small concerts. Most of the equipment (and staff) went on to a temporal cinema called SMART Cinema in a building that was listed to be demolished, which was turned into something called SMART Project Space. After that the projection equipment ended up at the art house in Zaandam (Filmschuur).
