A Boat of Birds

Caught this bird family gathered on a floating dock in a lake on a cold afternoon in December. The light was was quite strong, so I had to search for a good angle to get the lighting right, without catching heavy reflections on the water. As a bonus, the church tower of the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) of Delft is visible in the background. In post processing, the focus was on optimizing lighting and the blue-gray color tones that enhanced the desolate atmosphere.

It has been raining and snowing a lot this easter weekend, so these small creeks where completely filled up with water. We were lucky, just after we entered the car after our walk it started snowing again.
