Dartmouth High School
Dartmouth High School is a public secondary school located in the Brightwood neighbourhood in the north end of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. Encompassing grades 10 through 12, Dartmouth High School has always had a wide variety of courses, ethnic groups, and options for students. I am an amusement park enthusiast, and in my travels, which have seen me at Upper Clements Park, Canada's Wonderland, Busch Gardens, Disney World, Disneyland Paris, MGM Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Universal Studios, and Ocean World, no ride is more terrifying than The Zipper. The Zipper is a ride that appears in little carnivals and fairs all over the country, showing up in my hometown once a year, and now I find it in Dartmouth. It isn't necessarily the movement of the ride that is scary (although, with the forward and backwards 360 degree rotation of the contraption on which the cages also rotate 360 degrees, it is possibly the most intense ride I've been on). Nay. What is terrifying is looking at it. Knowing that some carnies threw this together in a night, that the seats are patched with duct tape, and the whole damned thing is covered in rust... Really inspires confidence. I rode it three times.

On Saturday my friend Bird and I went the fair that was set up by the Dartmouth Sportsplex. We got there shortly before noon and the place was nearly deserted, so with our $18 all you can handle bracelets, we got to go on all the rides with no wait times (until the park started filling up later in the afternoon). The carnies were also giving us extra long rides - fantastic. The two girls on the Tilt-A-Whirl had been on at the same time as us, and as we old people got off, they shrieked we want to go again! And away they went.

Accident happened right in front of 20 cops. Bus and blue truck collided. Then the instructor had to direct traffic while the ducklings... I mean recruits just stood there.

This child has nice form on the descent. I was amused to see the very small children approaching the stairs with their potato sacks and looks of fierce determination.
