IDS Center - Minneapolis, MN I'm sure they're very nice people, but I would never want to be these guys. Standing around with their identical cell phones all trying to figure out which of them is the king of the apes by who has the most messages. At one point they were all talking to eachother then in perfect unison they all reached for their phones and turned their backs on eachother and walked away with their phone planted agaist there ears. It was like it had been choreographed. Sychronized Assholes.

View from my window at work on the 11th floor of the IDS Center - down the Nicollet Mall, which isn't a shopping mall, but a pedestrian street-mall (with buses and taxis)... try explaining that to an out of towner looking for a mall.. it's hard, I've tried. No, it's that street right there. That's the Nicollet Mall. Yeah, the whole street.

Downtown Minneapolis, with IDS Center, the tallest building in Minnesota. IDS Center was built for Investors Diversified Services (now Ameriprise Financial), and was opened in 1972, It was 775 ft (236 m) high at the time of this photo, and has 57 floors of office space. It is now slightly higher, and has a communications antenna.

I took this shot from IDS Tower on the 51st floor, the building across the street is Wells Fargo Center and it was under construction at that time (in July 1988). Note also, that IDS tower was open for public and there was a restaurant on the 51st floor. When I visited the tower in 2008 it was closed for public (due to 9/11/2001).

Every year the IDS Center puts up these circus polar bears. I find them creepy and weird, but maybe other people like them? This shot shows how well the 18-200 VR is working for me. I could not have taken this with my other zoom lens.
