Happiest Celebration Castle

This year Disney's big thing was to collect events, rides, and performances from the various Disney properties around the world and show them at Disneyworld in Orlando. The castle is the site of Cinderellabration, and has been completely 'reskinned' in a Della Robbia style, with gold statues of the various characters. I created this photomontage in response to 's nice comment on this shot, which talked about all the new castle decorations. I like the other shot a lot, but I thought it would be nice to put up something that actually showed all those decorations mentioned in her comment. For the technically inclined, EXIF data is still present, but is for the center castle shot of the montage, taken with the Canon kit lens. All the surrounding shots were taken with a different lens, an inexpensive 75-300mm zoom lens.

This shot was made from inside Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Through the castle into Fantasyland you can see Cinderella's Golden Carousel. Walking through on my way to Fantasyland I noticed how dim the lighting was in the Castle for being right in the middle of daylight - and how bright it was out there. So I thought it would be a good opportunity to get sort of a silhouette photo...

As we were navigating the post-halloween-parade traffic, we took a dark path that passed underneath the castle. I took advantage of this to take a few shots of it. Shortly after this, we pooped out and headed back to our Resort. This shot has proved very popular on Flickr, I guess people like the sort of looming feel of the perspective here.
