Cidade Velha (Portuguese for "old city"), or Sidadi Velha and Sidadi Bedja in Bádiu (before 1997, Sidade Bedja, is a city located 15 km from Praia Cape Verde's capital) on Santiago. It used to serve as the capital of Cape Verde. The name was changed to Cidade Velha to avoid confusion of another Ribeira Grande in another island. Cidade Velha is the oldest settlement in Cape Verde.

organ by Arp Schnitger or Ulenkampf for Faro Cathedral. The organ was installed by Schnitger pupil Johann Heinrich Ulenkampf. Gustav Fock states that the organ was built by Ulenkampf in 1716. Thus it is not completely sure whether the organ was Schnitger's work or Ulenkampf's.
