This one also works best in black and white, partly because there is a big red sign outside Madison Square Gardens which detracts from the rest of the picture which has largely neutral colours. I found it hard to get the scale and claustrophobia of the New York skyscrapers into a photograph with the equipment i had at the time, but cropping it to be a bit narrower than usual has helped in this case.

Truly a hallelujah moment... after a day of drizzle turning into torrential rain, and another of mostly grey nothingyness, the weather was feeling far too British. And, then, magically, marvellously, the sun broke through, casting a luscious late afternoon honeyed glow over the city, making my spirits soar.

On of my fave NY buildings, intersection of Broadway, Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street. Amazing location but even more amazing piece of architecture. Designed by Daniel Burnham, built in 1902. I think that the offices of the tabloid featured in the first Spiderman film was located here....
