Heaven Whispers Victoria British Columbia
Made by Ireena Eleonora Worthy
Next time a sunrise steals your breath or a meadow of flowers leaves you speechless, remain that way. Say nothing, and listen as heaven whispers, Do you like it? I did it just for you. - Max Lucado One of my favourite locations is Cattle Point Park, in Victoria, BC. It is ever changing, always interesting and a beautiful place to watch a sunrise. While the sky didn't pop, the wild flowers provided a carpet of colour. I have been inspired by other Flickr members to return to old destinations to find new perspectives. I am beginning to realize that nature gives me many colours and moments while watching the same sun rise in the eastern sky. This morning I was speechless.

Live in the Present, Victoria, British Columbia
Made by Ireena Eleonora Worthy
“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.” Henry David Thoreau Take time to enjoy the present during this busy holiday season. Enjoy the time you spend with your mom, dad, kids, friends and extended family. Hug them. Kiss them. Tell them how much you love them and how much they mean to you. In the present, their life path intersects yours--find your eternity in those moments.

All the Stars are Projectors
Made by Karsten of the Island
Sadly, I missed the rising full moon at Cattle Point. But I did come away with this image. The closer lights are those of Oak Bay, and the Oak Bay Marina. The distant lights beneath the mountains are those of the communities of the Olympic Penninsula, across the straight and south of the border. A car drove through the lot during this exposure, and provided some great warm light in the near portion of the composition.

It was one of those grey days
Made by { sara }
I got a few weird looks from people walking by while I was taking this photo... I've been wanting to photograph one of these bushes with berries on it for a while now, so when I saw one while I was driving yesterday I pulled over, pulled out my camera, and basically climbed inside the bush to get a good angle. Apparently people are a little bit surprised to see a girl with a camera crouching inside a bush...

Anna's Hummer calls Victoria home
Made by TT_MAC
British Columbia's capital is fortunate to be a year-round home for North America's only non-migratoryhummer - Anna's Hummingbird. This fascinating little gem first found its way onto South Vancouver Island in about 1958. It is a bird of the Pacific Coast, most abundant in Southern California and in Canada is found regularly only in the extreme south western part of BC. They are much loved here.

Willows beach
Made by ZedZap
Victoria B. C . Willows Beach takes its name from what was Greater Victoria's main horse-racing venue in the early years of the twentieth century, the Willows Racetrack nearly a kilometre inland from the beach, so named because of the willow trees that grew there . other than that unusual titbit .. this is one of my fave places in Victoria .. and just awesome for night sky viewing ..

Cattle point .. Uplands
Made by ZedZap
one of my favourite spots .. and the clouds were so wonderful on this day .. a hug sandy beach is on the left .. and I really like the composition of this one .. it was a grower .. I almost erased it .. ,because there was no obvious pull , but on second thoughts it seems well balanced. 50 mm lens View..LARGE.. for full effect

"..., and this over my shoulder is Mt. Baker"
Made by TT_MAC
This is a shot of Mt Baker, Washingotn St, taken from Cattle Point in Victoria BC. The view is looking east over the San Juan Islands to Mt. Baker which is roughly 60 miles away. Baker is just under 11,000 ft in elevation and is an active volcano. The seagull in the foregound looked like he was providing the documentary.

Coastal Winter Morning
Made by TT_MAC
We were at Cattle Point the other day to watch the shorebirds and hopefully catch a nice sunrise. The sunrise wasn't real colorful, but there were some interesting cloud formations over the Olympic Mountains across the strait. The low rising sun created some nice beams of light against the mountain backdrop.

Love like a sunset Here comes, a visible horizon. Right where it starts and ends. Oh, and then we start the end. Here comes, a visible illusion. Oh, where it starts and ends. You're like a sunset

Mt Baker Sunrise
Made by Ireena Eleonora Worthy
Cattle Point is one of my favourite spots in Victoria. They say that while learning to photograph, you should go back to the same spot many times. This is my second photo shoot and I will be back. Can't wait to learn how to use photoshop and HDR to help adjust the foreground...so much to learn

Perseid Meteor
Made by Shayne Kaye
Three hours of effort totally paid off with this one! A nice, bright meteor caught flying right through the middle of the Perseus constellation during the 2011 Perseid Meteor Shower. Taken at Uplands Park in Victoria, BC, Canada. Mouseover image for note.

Fall Cruising
Made by TT_MAC
This shot was taken from Cattle Point looking east toward Mount Baker as the sun was setting behind us. The people on the crusie ship had some nice views. Mt Baker was very clear, usually there's haze or clouds obscurring it to some degree.

Oyster Catcher Dance
Made by TT_MAC
This Black Oyster Catcher on the outer shoreline, feeding on limpits and chitons, probing mussel beds above the tide line, became more and more aggrevated as I approached ever closer until this final display of annoyance,

Harlequin Duck
Made by Michael Klotz
This wonderful little duck was swimming in the shallows at Cattle Point just north of Victoria. He was hunting for goodies with his mate in about a foot and a half of water. The coloration of these guys is stunning up close.

No Burdens, No Worries Victoria
Made by Ireena Eleonora Worthy
Basically SOOC...sharpened slightly and cropped to 10 x 8. I felt that I had not one worry, not one burden, nothing was on my mind just the breeze from the ocean, and the lovely cry of the gulls.
