Unfortunately by the time I got hold of a camera, Partington Station had already been demolished a few years earlier and the Gas Works Sidings had just been lifted. I managed to photograph one of two buildings either side of the Weighbridge before they were demolished. I remember finding old wagon cards with 'LANCASHIRE TAR DISTILLERS' inside this building. They had their own private wagons which could be seen on the other side of the Manchester Ship Canal at Cadishead in the 1960s at Bob's Lane Ferry.
