About a month ago I spent a little time with a friend staying in East London - the Canary Wharf complex was just a hop, skip and a jump away....travelling by night on the Docklands Light Railway certainly adds another dimension to public transport.... It's a hand-held shot taken by night without a flash and yes, the escalator was moving. :) So forgive the graininess, but it is worth opening up to large size and feeling a momentary touch of motion sickness....

I took this because it showed one of the many differences between Canary Wharf and most of the rest of London: street signs typically are affixed to buildings or courtyard walls, but here the buildings are glass boxes set apart from, not supporting, the public realm. The street sign was stuck into the ground like signage in any other office park.
