Station Road, Cambridge. The bronzed statue of Ceres now stands behind hoardings, partially obscured, which envelop the old Foster Mills site, more recently Spillers. The whole area around the station is scheduled for redevelopment and I am hoping that the statue, and the huge carved stone sphere on which it is mounted, are retained in a prominent position along with the main mill buildings, such a landmark in Cambridge. It seems that the developers know what they want and the planners know what they don't want, a natural and balanced situation which is probably beneficial... as long as balance doesn't lead to inertia.

Union Jack bag toting tourists at Cambridge station. Sadly, unlike the colourful cyclist photo I failed to get the moving bit steady, but I kind of like this anyway.

For your own safety, Always remain behind the yellow line until your intended train has stopped. And it stopped for me (a bit late) at Cambridge railway station.

Kevin Steinhardt, circa August 2008. With no footbridges, subways or track to cross, Cambridge station is an odd shape; as is my face, in this here picture.
