Along the Gran Via is Edificio Metrópolis, or Metropolis building, which was built between 1907 and 1911. On top the building (seen on the left) is the winged goddess Victoria. Tucked back a bit is the Edificio Grassy which was built in 1917. These buildings were able to be constructed early in the 20th century with the creation of the wide roads running through town.
