Brooklyn - Brooklyn Heights: Promenade - Sundial
Made by wallyg
The Promenade cantilevered over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) is a favorite spot among locals, offering magnificent vistas of the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline across the East River, as well as views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. A sundial served as the focal point for the Promenade’s once barren, circular northern terminus. Brooklyn Heights Historic District National Register #66000524

Lower Manhattan at Night from Brooklyn Heights, NYC
Made by andrew c mace
Four-shot landscape-orientation panorama with my 35mm prime lens from Brooklyn Heights as the rain clouds approached Manhattan on Sunday night. The 35mm gave me a little bit more sky and water than my 50mm panorama—though from Brooklyn Heights, there isn't a whole lot of unobstructed water. Huge 4000-pixel-wide version.

View from Brooklyn Heights Promenade

Best viewed You can see everything from the Statue of Liberty to the Brooklyn Bridge from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade (the statue, sadly, didn't make the transition to the smaller file size -- even with the individual photographs taken down to 800x600, this image is over 4000p across!). At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

Manhattan Skyline
Made by Acoustic Walden
As I walked around the streets of your town Tryin' not to bring myself down Stoned here I find I almost lost my mind, The subway is not the underground. Yeah, now New York — New York City goodbye, Oh New York City, goodbye, Goodbye, New York City, I'm goin' home, Oh, I don't want to be in New York anymore, oh no.

“The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, not in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what it was, nor forward to what it might be, but living in the present and accepting it as it is now.” Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Adjusting the Light
Made by isaiahlt
Getting that nifty shine without washing out the picture was a fun way to learn about exposure settings on my camera. I really should be more familiar with those. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

The Globe at Brooklyn Heights
Made by Christian Mena
The globe statue on the Promenade overlooking lower Manhattan. The Promenade offers the best skyline view of Manhattan's east financial district without a doubt.

Eli and Bassem
Made by isaiahlt
Eli, the locations coordinator and one of the few people on set who speaks English, confers with Bassem, the director. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

Waiting
Made by isaiahlt
There were many more reporters on Day 2, and of course lots of waiting around. At least there were benches that day. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

Frisket at the armillary sphere on the heights promenade. The RAZR seems to have a white balance problem. While it was bright out, it wasn't this bright.

Frisket with beachball toy
Made by epc
Frisket's friends Cuff & Links sent her a beach ball toy over the holidays. It's her new favorite toy even though it's twice the size of her head.

The Making Of
Made by isaiahlt
The whole shot would have been nicer without that stupid pole right there to screw with the skyline. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

The Making Of Qalb Iddunia, I suppose. Note placement so as to incorporate the skyline... At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

Another Monitor Shot

Clearly I'm in love with the idea of taking pictures of people looking at screens. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

Another Light and Skyline Photo

I should send these into the NY Film Comission people, maybe make some more cash. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.

Blue Light Special

I really should know the name of these lights, being an actor and all. At the Qalb Iddunia shoot in Brooklyn.
