Well, I have this strange habit of taking pictures of my own shadow at all kinds of locations in the world, but always in the same pose. And every picture has its own story. You can see some of them in . Last year I was visiting my parents, who still live in the small town where I was born. It was a sunny winter day and we went for a walk. My 4-year-old nephew went with us, and he took the toy camera that he just got as a present. On our way we walked through the Nonnenbos (Nuns' Park): a park near my parents house where I used to play a lot with my friends when I was a boy. At that time it was a huge forest, a wilderness where we played hide-and-seek, were soldiers and cowboys, built huts, got stuck in the mud, things like that... but now it was just a park ;-). When I saw my shadow cast on this oaknut tree, I saw the opportunity to take a picture for my collection. I had been taking pictures of my own shadow all over the world, but never in my hometown! I took position as always (one hand waving and the other hand on the camera) and was ready to take the picture, when my nephew came standing close to me: one hand waving and the other hand on his toy camera. Then I made this picture. It's the only picture in my 'shade figure collection' that has two waving shadow figures in it... but I like it very much, because of the special location and moment.
