1. Assignment: City lights Today I'll start of with the assignments from Tom Ang's book Digital Photography Masterclass. The first assignment is called city lights. Every Sunday I'll add another photography from the following assignments to my Photostream. This picture was taken in Munich, Germany at the BMW World. This is just a single shot with my Nikon D80 at ISO-100, f/11, 15 seconds on tripod. The lens was a Tokina 10-17mm fisheye @ 10mm. The only post processing I did: add a layer of contrast add a layer of saturation sharpen using the high pass filter reduce the noise That night I took a bunch of bracketed shots of that building because I wanted to make a HDR out of it. The results were not as good as I expected the HDR to be so I didn't care about those pics anymore and just left them on my harddrive until I got Tom's book. I checked through all of my night shots and found that this shot wasn't that bad after all. The next assignment will be still life!

BMW Welt (English - BMW World), is a multi-functional customer experience and exhibition facility of the BMW Group, located in Munich, Germany. In direct proximity to the BMW Headquarters, it is designed to: present the current products of BMW; be a distribution center for BMW cars; and offer an event forum and a conference center. Designed by architects Coop Himmelb(l)au for BMW Group, the facility was constructed from August 2003 through Summer 2007. Originally conceived to be open and ready for World Cup 2006, it eventually opened on October 17, 2007 and deliveries commenced on October 23, 2007. The first customer to take delivery of a new BMW at the Welt was Jonathan Spira. Designed with an 800 KWatt solar plant on its roof, the building does not have the boredom of a hall, it is not only a temple, but also a market place and a communication center and meeting place for knowledge transfer, said architect Prix at the opening ceremony. One of just a very few acceptable pics taken in a horrible night photowalk on saturday evening: I packed my things, grabed my bicykle and drove to Olympiapark here in Munich. Parked my bicykle, went to a bridge, arranged my tripod, assembledd my cam on it, turned it on: NO SD CARD! OUCH! Back to by bike, drove back home, took the SD card out of my notebook, jumped back on my bike and drove back to Olympiapark. Parked my bicykle, went to a bridge, arranged my tripod, assembledd my cam on it, turned it, took a few pics, but than, whats that on my display? RAINDROPS! ARGH! Just took some few more pics and than I gave up... that's life...
