Fountains of Bellagio
Made by Thad Roan - Bridgepix
The Fountains of Bellagio is a vast, choreographed water feature with performances set to light and music. The performances take place in front of the Bellagio hotel and are visible from numerous vantage points on the Strip, both from the street and neighboring structures. The show takes place every 30 minutes in the afternoons and early evenings, and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight. Before a water show starts, the nozzles break the water surface and the lights illuminating the hotel tower turn to a purple hue (usually), or red-white-and-blue for certain music. Shows may be cancelled without warning because of wind, although shows usually run with less power in face of wind. A single show may be skipped to avoid interference with a planned event. The fountain display is choreographed to various pieces of music, including songs by Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra, and Gene Kelly. The fountains are set in a 9-acre (3.6 ha) manmade lake. Contrary to urban myth, the lake is not filled with treated greywater from the hotel. The lake is actually serviced by a freshwater well that was drilled decades prior to irrigate a golf course that previously existed on the site. The fountains actually use less water than irrigating the golf course did. They incorporate a network of pipes with more than 1,200 nozzles that make it possible to stage fountain displays coordinated with more than 4,500 lights. It is estimated that the fountains cost $40 million to build. The fountains were created by WET, a design firm specializing in inventive fountains and architectural water features. (Wikipedia)

Las Vegas: Fountains of Bellagio
Made by wallyg
Inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy, the Bellagio Hotel and Casino is among the most elegant on the Las Vegas strip. Conceived by Steve Wynn, designed by Marnell Carrao Associates and Jon Jerde and built by Wynn's Mirage Resorts, Inc., on the site of the legendary Dunes Hotel and Casino, at a cost of over $1.3 billion, the Bellagio was the most expensive hotel ever built at the time of its opening on October 15, 1998. Spanning across the 8 acre, quarter-mile-long artificial lake in front of the Bellagio, the Fountains of Bellagio come alive with a dramatic combination of water, light and orchestration to a variety of songs ranging from Pavarotti to Sinatra. The $40M fountains were desgined by WET Design's Claire Kahn, and is equipped with 1,200 nozzles and 4,500 lights. The Fountains of Bellagio was made using three types of nozzles: oarsman, which can swing back and forth to create dancing water; shooters, which can shoot water upwards; and super shooters, which can send a water blast as high as 250 ft (76 m) in the air. Numerous outside professionals including composer/conductor Gerard Schurmann (Lawrence of Arabia) and choreographer Kenny Ortega (Dirty Dancing) were brought into to develop the show. The Bellagio fountains have been made famous through appearances on the silver screen, most notably in the remake of Ocean's Eleven. In 2007, The Bellagio Hotel and Casino was ranked #22 on the AIA 150 America's Favorite Architecture list.

Las Vegas Bellagio Fountains Panorama
Made by Visualist Images
Last week we took a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. We all had a great time. We saw a couple of shows (Love and The Mac King Show) Love was very good, although acrobatically not on a par with the other Cirque shows we have seen. So far O is my favorite. The Mac King Show was a last minute addition to our trip and a very pleasant surprise. He was quite entertaining & easily worth the inexpensive (for Las Vegas) $35.00 cover. The above shot was taken from our daughters suite at the Bellagio. A couple of months ago I booked a couple of rooms at a cheapo rate through Hotels.com. I was rather surprised when we checked in and the front desk clerk notified me we actually had a suite and a standard room. Since it was Audrea's birthday, we gave her the suite. A few hours later we were notified that there was an error & the suite was actually reserved for another John Rogers, however we were welcome to stay in the suite for the previously paid rate. Later that evening the four of us watched the amazing choreographed fountains perform their magic to the music of Chorus Line This is the full version of the crop I did for my blog <a href=http://www.JohnRRogers.com Since you are here, please, make a comment. :-) Especially please make a comment if you mark this as a favorite. Fiori di Como - Hand-blown glass flowers art by Dale Chihuly hanging from the ceiling in the lobby of the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. From Wikipedia: Chihuly’s work is a story of his life. His fascination with abstract nature forms come from reminder of his mother’s garden in Tacoma, Washington. Also, his love for the ocean and its creatures is resembled in his work. Over the past forty years, Chihuly’s glass sculptures have explored color, design, and assemblage. Although his work varies in size and color, he is best known for his multipart blown masterpieces. bellagio water blossom
Made by Joits
i had been to vegas several times since the bellagio was built but this was the first time i'd actually stopped and seen the watershow. i'm sort of glad since i'm obviously into photography now and i had my camera with me. the day started out pretty good, woke up around noon and had a buffet lunch with ryan and stephen at treasure island. while they chilled at the poker table after lunch, i got to wander around alone to take pics and i took full advantage of it by going to the venetian which i enjoyed. its a beautiful hotel. after dropping stephen off at the riviera since he was returning to seattle that night, me and ryan went over to hang out with mike at his new place. later, we came out here and i was finally able to see this amazing show. i love that it's different everytime and that one weekends, the show takes place every 15 mins. the rest of the night was sort of... just wandering around, didn't really take any decent pics after leaving this area. still... i had a pretty fun day with the highlights being able to go around taking pics, meeting up with mike and watching/photographing the bellagio's watershow. #74 of project 365

The Love Theater in Las Vegas
Made by luv2run
Taken in Las Vegas, NV, at the entrance to the LOVE Theater in the Mirage Hotel. The background is a big lighted area, and the colors continually changed. This is a retouched version of the photo because my handbag was in the original. Everyone kept asking me why I didn't put it out of the way, so I zapped it with the healing wand in Adobe PhotoShop Elements. Technically, I did not take the photo, but I lined up the shot, set the appropriate camera settings with my camera, handed it to a friend, and jumped into the photo. So my friend merely served as a human tripod! LOVE is a wonderful Cirque du Soleil show based on the Beatles music. For more info about the show, see http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/showstickets/love/intro/intro.htm

Bellagio at Night
Made by vw4ross
Do the right thing, and A wide angle view of one of the more popular resorts in Las Vegas, the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Luckily, I captured this photo very late on Tuesday night, and not last night. Reason being, Las Vegas received 3-5 inches of snow on Wednesday. Many of the well known landmarks are snow covered. Fortunately for me, my flight was able to take off right as it was getting bad. As my plane was taxiing for takeoff, it was snowing so hard...you couldn't even see all those hotels on the strip. And for you people who are familiar with Las Vegas, you know how close McCarran airport is to the Las Vegas Strip. A lot of the flights after mine ended up getting canceled. Definitely seeing it snow that hard in the desert was a first for me. I am used to going out there in the summer when it is 112 degrees!

Campo di fiori
Made by [Kantor]
Last summer I was visiting Bellagio, a luxury hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip. Walking into the lobby of the Bellagio and seeing this sculpture suspended from the ceiling is an awe-inspiring experience. Fiori di Como is the largest glass sculpture ever made with 2,000 individual blown-glass flowers. It is so large, this photo don't really express the real size.

Bellagio from the Sky | Las Vegas, NV -Explore 340
Made by Me and My Photos :)
This is a view of the Bellagio fountains from the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Casino. There are a couple of special things about this photo, first, it was taken without a tripod between a 3x3 inch square opening of the towers wires that, well keep you jumping out of the tower or something. Secondly because of the intense brightness of the fountain at this time of night this is done as a HDR from a single RAW, using -2, 0 and +3 exposures while overlaying +3 as a selectively merged layer in photoshop. Best Viewed Large on Black : www.decluttr.com/4733764220 Just so the D90 doesn't get blame here, there was nearly 0 grain in the original photo, the HDR Process has added some 'fun' artifacting.

Happy Chinese New Year
Made by vw4ross
Better Viewed Large On Black On display as part of the Chinese New Year exhibit at the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens located inside the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. I had to wait my turn to snap this image as there was about 15 other people trying to take this same photo. I would have like to set up the tripod for a sharper image, but there was no room amongst the crowd. I just boosted ISO a little bit, relied on the VR to do its job, and moved along. Exposure bracketing here would have been cool though!

Fiori di Como (Flowers of Lake Como), Chihuly Installation at the Bellagio in Las Vegas
Made by Robin Black Photography
****BEST VIEWED LARGE/ON BLACK**** (just click on the photo!) Chihuly chose the name for his giant ceiling-mounted glass sculpture at the Las Vegas casino because the Bellagio was inspired by the grand hotel of the same name at Lake Como, Italy. I see flowers--and I also see an ATTACK OF THE GIANT GLASS JELLYFISH!!! Because it looks a little like that, don't you think? Shot handheld, as the security guys at the Bellagio get a little tense when they see tripods. The entire sculpture and its mounting hardware weighs in at an impressive 50,000 pounds. 25 tons. Try not to think about that if you're ever standing directly beneath it!

Sandira Calviac
Made by Thomas Hawk
Sandira was delightful and super friendly. The first night I met her she didn't want me to take her photo. I think she was a little put off about my Babes of CES 2007 set. Then the next night after seeing some of my shots she let me take her portrait. I think she's beautiful. But more than that she is super nice and very friendly. Sandira hung out with us late into the night working away on her laptop while I processed photos. I would have liked to have gotten to know her better -- maybe another day. Anyways, she's not in my Babes of CES 2007 set because I don't think she wants to be there, but glad to have met her.

Bellagio & Caesars Palace
Made by vw4ross
Looks much better I wish I would've had my tripod with me for this photo, but I'm happy with the colors and that it turned out somewhat sharp. Hand held at 1/6 of a second, ISO 1000. In addition, the temperature was 32 degrees outside & I only had a long sleeve shirt on. I was going to walk back to my room over at the Palazzo, but I elected to take a taxi....it was simply too cold. I never would have imagined later that day 3-5 inches of snow would fall on the city of Las Vegas....leaving virtually all of the well known landmarks covered in a blanket of snow.

Dancing Fountains
Made by Nukamari
Explore #138 7-Sept-2009
