Dad Looks Sternly (1970s)

During my high school days, I was always prowling my home with a camera in hand, trying to get some candid photos. Here I caught dad as he looked up from his newspaper and snapped the photo before he could throw something at me. This was one of my first photographs taken with a serious camera (a cheap, plastic 35mm rather than an instamatic. I took it as part of my high school photography class coursework and was one of the first photos that I developed in the darkroom, printed, mounted and framed. The negative is probably gone now, but the photo lives on and is my favorite photo of dad. It is also one of a half-dozen photo's of that era that cemented my interest in photography.
