3 heritage houses in the City - 1902-03
Made by Bob_2006
883, 889, 891 Broughton Street, Vancouver, BC. This trio of wooden houses with unusual side bay windows and expansive porches was built in 1902-03. Together they provide a glimpse of an early Vancouver residential streetscape. Increased development pressures have made this one of the last remaining blocks of older houses and the Vancouver Park Board has incorporated them into this “live-in heritage park” known as Barclay Heritage Square. In 1985, architect Allan Diamond designed renovations converting each of the buildings into three housing units. City of Vancouver Heritage Plaque Program

Weeks House - ca. 1895
Made by Bob_2006
1459 Barclay Street, Vancouver, BC. Built about 1895 for George W. Weeks, a grocer, this early Vancouver home is a good example of West End residential architecture at the end of the 19th century. Its asymmetrical design includes unusual features such as a central dormer with a gambrel roof and a two-sided veranda with shingle-clad columns. Renovations designed by the Iredale Partnership in 1990 have restored the exterior to its original condition. City of Vancouver Heritage Plaque Program

1416, 1430-32 and 1436 Haro Street, Vancouver, BC. These Edwardian Houes, built between 1902 and 1909, are reminders of the West End's original single-family character. The central house was built for L.W. Stone, manager of the singer family. The historia features of each building were maintained when Allan Diamond Architect supervised the conversion of each house into three apartment units 1985 as part of the Barclat Heritage Square.
