Northern France was flat and boring, with straight roads. I got totally plastered with bugs that turned to a white goo on my leathers. Lucky for me I then hit a torrential downpour of rain that washed the goo off. Strasbourg was very nice, stayed there a few days before moving on. Switzerland must have been the cleanest place I had ever seen. Plus it had gorgeous views everywhere you looked. The youth hostels were especially nice there as well.
