Something old, something new. In the last month before our holiday to the Philippines I try to learn to work my Panasonic FZ28, and sometimes I have to go back in my archives to add a new pic to Flickr, this is one of those moments. In Taragona, Spain, there is a big statue of a sport the Spanish practice, called castell. The winner is who forms the highest pyramide. The tradition is from before 1800. When we went to Salou in 2007 we visited this nice city for one day.

Ballada conjunta del seguici mentre les autoritats i la bandera de la ciutat arriben a la catedral. The seguici (all the gigants and folkdances of Tarragona) danced at the same time when the city flag and the autorithies arrive to the Catedral. Il seguici (i geganti, l'aquila, la mulassa e tutti i balli tradizionali) danzano insieme quando la bandiera de la città e il sindico arrivanno al duomo.

Plaza Imperial Tarraco............. Por alguna razón este año muchas ciudades han adornado sus calles con luces de color azul, imagino que todo esto se debe a la ya machacada crisis pero yo pìenso, si realmente hay crisis porque no solamente cambian el color de las luces, si no, que además encienden las luces que eso provoca un gran consumo

I noticed this house in Tarragona a few days ago. There is an interesting collection of succulent plants in pots attached to the wall and growing on the roof garden. What a great idea to concentrate on plants that can take the heat and lack of rain in this area.

an idyllic corner in Tarragona's old town. The plants look neglected, as does the house- I love those blue pots! The doorway seems to have been altered a few times from a huge Medieval entrance to this small door.
