Athenry ('Baile Átha an Rí' - 'Ford of the Kings' in Irish) is an agricultural town in County Galway, Republic of Ireland. It lies 25 km to the east of Galway city, and is also famous for the song The Fields of Athenry. One of the attractions of the town is its medieval castle. Grid reference: M 501 284.
