Two Tuna
Made by squaylor
Massive tuna heads on one of the specialist stalls. The man at the top of the photo is standing directly behind them. The tuna is king at Tsukiji - many going for $50,000 or more each. It was by far the most common meat on offer, in all cuts and price brackets - the fatty belly being the most expensive. I really wanted to see the live auction, but couldn't get there in time.

Coming Through!
Made by squaylor
These barrel-fronted trucks zip around everywhere at Tsukiji, transporting the bought stock to waiting lorries out the back. They don't half shoot around quickly, but the drivers keep on parping their horns if you step the wrong way without looking. The floors are all wet, and I saw some of the younger drivers doing skids and power slides.

A Bloody End
Made by squaylor
When you walk around, this is a common sight. Everywhere you turn there are polystyrene boxes filled with ex-marine life for sale - of every possible variety.

Tsukiji Fishmarket
Made by squaylor
The world's largest, busiest and craziest fish market - Tsukiji in Tokyo. Every day they shift 2,500 tonnes of seafood at a cost of £15m. Just amazing.

Fivesquid
Made by squaylor
All lined up and glistening, streamlined squid on a polystyrene slab. ¥1400 is just over £5...
