Odaiba Ferris Wheel

So many great photographers have long exposure shots of ferris wheels going around at night. This was my first time I had the chance to do one, and... no tripod. It was safe at the hotel. I didn't feel like bringing it with me to the recreational island of Odaiba which is a short 10 minute train ride out of the city, which hosts a bunch of museums, malls, fun centers, a Toyota museum and Pallete Town, with this 115m ferris wheel. Here it is in the Large version for my friends and random people that might trip over this So I set my camera up on my camera bag and used my sweater to get the proper angle and then did a hand-held minute exposure to get this. Not bad for not using a tripod. Exposure: 73 sec (73) Aperture: f/14 Focal Length: 17 mm ISO Speed: 100 Oh yeah, and I'm finally home now. And after taking a nap, took the family to Round Table Pizza, which is the most American food I could think of. After a week+ of eating noodles, sushi, curry, rice, etc... it was nice to eat something you could actually sink your teeth into.

I'd heard about Comiket through various blogs and websites... the only thing I could really expect was crowds... so I wasn't surprised. What surprised me was the sheer quantity of cosplayers at Comiket. Stay in the area for a while, and you actually might feel like I did... a good mix of fun and fear. The fear was borne out being so overwhelmed by the number of costumes, you actually feel intimidated in a way. Though, I'm pretty sure the fear didn't interfere very much with my fun. My camera and I had a great workout. If things work out right, I may return for a little while for day 3 of Comiket, in a couple of days. Out of 200+ photos shot with my camera at Comiket, I arrived at this one because it was the cutest one to me.

Route 11 Daiba Line and Rainbow Bridge, Shuto Expressway, Tokyo I crossed the new street and the bridge which were being constructed, and captured this view standing on the bank which was also being constructed. Once they are completed, I'm afraid I won't be able to reach the same spot again. BTW, we have more than 300 photos in ! My second photostream on Flickr

Ariake Junction, Shuto Expressway, Tokyo I told you in a past upload that I love the loop bridge leading to Rainbow Bridge. This is the other side of Rainbow Bridge, which means the view from Ariake near Daiba. Rainbow Bridge is visible in the distance. Now this is not an HDR photo. I printed the RAW file and got this. I need to learn how to handle RAW files nicely. . .

Tokyo Bay Area I visited Tokyo International Book Festival being held at Tokyo Big Sight until Sunday. Our company has a booth there and I was an attendant for visitors. This beautiful sunset healed my tiredness right after I got out of the site. I was happy that I saw the Rainbow Bridge in the distance. No amber filter here by the way!

Yes, I uploaded the same kind of shot before. I shot the previous one, but I didn't like the thin clouds that covered the sky. A week later, the sky was clearer, so I visited the same spot and shoot some more. Actually it was windy, and the reflections on the sea wasn't nice.

There was a glass wall that was more than two meter tall on the bridge, but I somehow succeeded in placing the camera above the wall. I'm not fully satisfied with the result, but this was the best I could get. Don't ask me how many photos I had taken before this one.
